Audio Preservation & Reformatting

In addition to understanding methods for preserving audio recordings, I have hands on experience reformatting tape and vinyl records.  I learned about the tools used for audio reformatting and preservation, the infrastructure needed to ingest audio recordings in an archival repository, and became versed in a variety of media formats.   l am also familiar with the intellectual property laws governing access.

The lack of one comprehensive metadata schema that meets the needs of audio recordings is an obstacle to the long-term preservation of sound.  Below is my presentation that accompanied a report on the topic.
